A non Geographic number allows businesses to use a number that is geographically neutral of any area in the UK. For example numbers in the Greater Manchester area would typically have a ‘0161’ prefix.
By using non geographic numbers (NGN’s) the business based in Manchester can choose a number that is totally independent of that region for example 0845 or 0870. This is attractive when wishing to appear National or at the very least not out of area to the caller.
